All through October we took entries from Magic listeners and we are excited to congratulate our November teacher for the 2009-2010 school year Teacher Who Makes Magic, Ms. Sharon Miller, with O.P. Earle Elementary School in Landrum. Read the nominating letter and see why we found this teacher to be Magic!
“I recently received a phone call from Dr. Johnson with Jervey Eye Group in Greenville. He wanted to nominate Mrs. Miller for going above and beyond the call of duty with one of her students. Dr. Johnson said ‘I had the great pleasure today to witness the unbelievable public service effort by one of your teachers, Sharon Miller. On her own, she assisted the family of one of her students, making an appointment for this child to see me for the purpose of a pediatric ophthalmologist. Mrs. Smith exceeded anything I have ever seen in 23 years as a pediatric professional. She made the appointment, brought the family in to see me and followed through with all of the recommendations. She even purchased glasses for her student. She needs to be recognized, as she has truly made Magic for this family and her school! It gives me great pleasure to recognize her to further encourage her in her career.’ “
