The school year is half way done and we still have so many great teachers to honor! We took entries from Magic listeners and we are excited to congratulate our teacher for January in the 2012-2013 school year... Mr. Jeff Norman. We know we found a great entry when we received this one about Mr. Norman, a teacher at Greer High School! Read the nominating letter and see why we found this teacher to be Magic!

Mr.Norman is the most caring, loyal teacher! Not only does he devote his time to making our band program outstanding, he is devoted to making sure his band kids do well in the class room. He helps with homework, gives the time to study, and also helps provide them with an older classman to assist with extra help. He has instilled a passion for music and a sense of school pride in his students. If they do well in fundraising, competitions, or what ever he is there cheering them on and giving them opportunities to get him back. From the traditional silly stringing him after a competition to hitting him with water balloons. I remember a pie in the face one year. Every Friday night he helps the band get the football team motivated by playing by their busses before they leave to playing at the games. Competition days he keeps them focused and ready to perform. All his band kids both past and present know he is always there for them any time day or night. This man has more passion for teaching than any other teacher I've ever known. This year he lead this band to a 2nd place finish at upper state and 3rd at state along with a number of top place finishes, not to mention a favoite band director award at two competitions. Mr. Norman deserves this for his dedication to his students. He is greatly loved and respected both at school and in our community. I have three daughters that he has taught and have had the honor of knowing him for 6 years. Thank you for considering him.
