Now too much juice????

MORE THAN ONE-THIRD OF KIDS DRINK TOO MUCH JUICE: More than one in three young American children are drinking too much juice, according to a new survey from a University of Michigan researcher, with the problem particularly seen in low-income households. The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends that children under age 6 drink only one cup of juice per day, even if it's 100 percent fruit juice. But the survey found that more than a third of parents reported that their kids in this age group drink two or more cups of juice each day, with the percentage bumped up to about half among parents with a household income of less than $30,000 a year. Drinking too much juice puts kids at risk for health conditions such as childhood obesity and early tooth decay, two conditions that are both more prevalent in low-income children.
